Vehicle Theft                                                          
Location: 1300 Block of Calabazas Court
Officer E. Lagergren noticed three juveniles in a vehicle. Once they saw the officer, the juveniles sped off. Officer Lagergren located the empty vehicle and was told that the occupants had run away. The three occupants were found hiding in nearby bushes and were arrested. The suspects admitted stealing the car, which had not yet been reported stolen. There was damage to the vehicle and the owners license was found inside. One suspect was released to a parent and the other two were transported to Juvenile Hall.

Drunk In Public                                          
Location: California St. and Stanley Avenue
Officer Bell responded to a call regarding a woman screaming for help. He arrived to find that the woman was very intoxicated and had fallen onto the back of a vehicle, breaking the rear windshield wiper. Due to her level of intoxication, she was transported to the hospital.

Arrest of Pursuit Subject                                    
Location: 3300 Block of Creighton Place
Officers Fraser and Mead responded to a residence in an attempt to locate a vehicle involved in a pursuit earlier that day. They found the vehicle in the driveway and also discovered that the registered owner (and girlfriend of the suspect) was on parole. The suspect was located sleeping in a bedroom of the residence. The girlfriend denied any knowledge of the pursuit. When asked for clothing for the suspect, she gave the officers a pair of pants that had methamphetamine in one of the pockets. The suspect was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008
 
Armed Robbery                                                     
Location: 1700 Block of Spacepark Drive
While playing bingo, the victim was approached by a woman who asked for a ride to a bus stop. She drove the woman to the requested location, where three males jumped out of a van and robbed her. One of the men was armed with a handgun. Taken in the robbery were personal belongings, a cell phone and a laptop.

Elder Abuse (Financial)                                       
Location: 1700 Block of Townsend Ave.
An 89 year-old victim reported that her 64 year-old son had been writing unauthorized checks to himself for several months.

Elder Abuse                                                                        
Location: 1900 Block of Hogan Dr.
Officers investigated an alleged incident where a caretaker had stolen a substantial amount of money over a period of time. The suspect had even driven the elderly deaf victim to the bank to assist him in withdrawing money.

DUI                                                    
Location:  Lafayette St. and Year Buena Way
While training on the use of the police vehicle emergency equipment, Officer Fraser and Officer Mead observed a vehicle swerving all over the road. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested for DUI. He was transported to the police department’s Temporary Holding Facility.

Friday, August 8th, 2008

 
Theft                                                             
Location: 3700 Block of El Camino Real
Officer Cusimano responded to the report of a theft at a grocery store. The suspect had been detained after stealing a beer. The suspect had a prior conviction, and was arrested. He was in possession of a cell phone believed to be stolen. An attempt is being made to locate the phone’s owner.

Man With a Gun                                          
Location:  Los Padres and Harrison
A witness reported seeing a juvenile carrying a concealed weapon. The juvenile was walking with three other juveniles. The juveniles were quickly located and detained. Three were found to be carrying silver colored plastic BB guns in their waistbands. There was no actual victim, as no one was threatened. The juveniles were released after their parents were contacted.
