The Police Blotter highlights a partial list of incidents in the city and is distributed on a weekly basis. The Blotter provides the date, time, approximate location, a narrative summary of the incident, case number and the most serious arrest charge.

Meanwhile, the Arrest Log provides a timely, chronological summary of all of the arrests made by the Santa Clara Police Department. It includes the name of the suspect(s), date of birth, city in which they reside, arrest date, time, location, case number as well as all of the charge(s) associated with the arrest. This information, located on the Santa Clara Police Department’s home page (www.scpd.org), is updated daily and serves as the most comprehensive list of arrests made.

Commercial Burglary

Location: 3400 Block of Central Expressway
Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Central Expressway on the report of a burglary in progress. Off-site security personnel witnessed three suspects, one female and two males, inside the building. Two of the three suspects were apprehended by police.

A Records check revealed suspect #1 (male) was on probation out of Santa Clara County and had two outstanding warrants out of Merced County and Ripon Police Department. Suspect #2 (female) was in possession of burglary tools, a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Suspect #3 (male) remains at large. Suspect #1 and #2 were arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail. This investigation is ongoing.

Vandalism

Location: 800 Block of Bing Drive
A reporting party contacted Public Safety Dispatchers to report an unknown male suspect jumping on the hood of a vehicle on the 800 block of Bing Drive. While standing on the top of the car, the suspect threw a river rock at the windshield. The suspect fled the area on foot before police arrival and remains at large.

Embezzlement - Felony

Location: 2200 Block of The Alameda
Between 8/4/16 and 9/20/16, a known suspect stole thousands of dollars from a former employer on the 2200 block of The Alameda. Unauthorized charges were made to the victim’s company credit card, cash was withdrawn from company bank accounts and the company's checking account to pay for the unauthorized credit card charges. The suspect is at large. This case has been referred to the Detective Bureau for investigation.

Driving Under the Influence

Location: Kiely Boulevard at Kaiser Drive
An officer responded to the intersection of Kiely Boulevard and Kaiser Drive on the report of a traffic collision. A female suspect lost control of her vehicle and struck the center divider before continuing to collide with a city tree and flag pole in Central Park.

Upon contact, the officer noted objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication. The suspect was unable to safely perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

The flag was dropped off at SCPD and a message was sent to our dispatch center for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Vehicle Theft

Location: 1300 Block of El Camino Real
Officers responded to an auto repair shop on the 1300 block of El Camino Real after an employee reported that two male suspects had stolen two vehicles from the secured parking lot. The suspects climbed the fence and drove off in two vehicles, crashing through the fence in the process. The suspects abandoned the vehicles and officers were able to recover them nearby.
An officer identified a subject matching the description of one of the suspects sitting in Civic Center Park. A Records check of the juvenile offender revealed he was on probation. A search of his person yielded a BB gun concealed in his waistband. He was arrested. The second suspect remains at large.

Residential Burglary

Location: 2000 Block of Klamath Avenue
An unknown suspect shattered the sliding door to the residence on the 2000 block of Klamath Avenue and gained entry. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the home and stole the victim's property. The suspect exited through the front door and remains at large. The total loss is estimated at $5,200.00.

Vandalism

Location: 500 Block of Mill Creek Lane
An unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a vacant apartment on the 500 block of Mill Creek Lane. Private Security contacted an unknown subject inside the apartment, but the subject fled the scene on foot. The security guard estimated the cost to repair the damage at approximately $400. The suspect(s) remain at large.

Vehicle Theft

Location: Lick Mill Boulevard at Laird Circle
The victim vehicle was parked near Lick Mill Boulevard and Laird Circle. The engine was running and the doors were unlocked and the victim ran into a residence for several moments. Meanwhile, a female subject was spotted being dropped off by another vehicle. The subject jumped into the victim’s vehicle and sped away. Numerous patrol units scanned the area but could not locate either vehicle. This investigation is ongoing.
