The City’s 48th Annual Clean-Up Campaign will be held March 31 through April 25, with the cleanup being divided into four collection areas. Each area will be assigned a different collection week over a period of four weeks. If you have any questions about your pick up area, please contact the Street Department at (408) 615-3080.
To report illegal dumping, or scavengers that are making a mess, call (408) 615-3080 during office hours, and for after office hours call (408) 615-5580.
The Annual Clean-Up Campaign is a great opportunity to dispose of bulky wastes and discards not routinely collected by weekly Garbage and Clean Green, or Recycling collection services.
A Clean-Up Campaign map is no longer available on the website due to concern of illegal dumpers, however, the map is available in your City calendar (mailed in December 2007), in the February utility bill insert (bright green 8 1/2 x 3 sheet), and in the Spring 2008 issue of Inside Santa Clara (the quarterly newspaper mailed to all residents 1st week of March 2008).
Contact the City at (408) 615-3080 for set-out times and areas and additional information.
If you live in a Multi-Family home, please contact your property manager or Homeowner's Association for the proper way and place to set materials out.
Televisions, computer monitors, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, washers, dryers, and tires must be separated from other materials. These items will be recycled. Please remove any doors with latch mechanisms to prevent accidents.
Garbage, any type of liquid including house & garden chemicals and cleaners, automobiles or auto parts containing fluid, explosives, live ammunition, medical or hazardous wastes (including batteries), or contractor-generated waste (including roofing, carpeting, drywall, tree trimmings, or tree stump removals) are not permitted in the cleanup. For information on how to dispose of these items properly call the Street Dept. Corporation Yard at (408) 615-3080.
Hazardous waste may be taken to one of the Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day events. For more information, contact the County Wide Household Hazardous Waste Program (CWHHWP) at (408) 299-7300.
