Traffic Accident - Fatal                                
Location:  2600 block Augustine Dr.
Two riders on motorcycles pulled into a business park. Both bikes drove with one significantly ahead of the other.  The witness rider saw the other rider brake at the exit to the business park which intersects with Augustine Dr.  The rider continued across the intersection striking a horizontal chain preventing entrance to the business park on the North side of the roadway.  The rider was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robbery Arrest                                               
Location:  Benton St. & Kiely Blvd.
On 10-30-07 Officer Haverty investigated a victim who had been robbed. Officer McDowell joined in the investigation.  Officer McDowell was able to identify the two potential suspects.  Officers Haverty and McDowell contacted the victim, and were able to obtain a positive identification of the two suspects.   The suspects were located and arrested.

Fraud                                                                
Location:  2300 block El Camino Real
The suspect acquired several checks made out for small dollar amounts. She altered the amounts and payee information.  This left the check obviously altered.  She was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Commercial Vehicle Enforcement                       
Location:  De La Cruz and Martin Av.
Officer B. Allen organized a commercial vehicle inspection checkpoint.  Aided by commercial enforcement inspectors from a number of other agencies including San Jose P.D., Campbell P.D., Milpitas P.D., Santa Clara County S.O. and C.H.P., our traffic officers inspected over 65 vehicles.  The inspection included lighting, paperwork, required equipment and other obvious violations.  A total of 28 citations were issued. The most serious offense was for hazardous materials not being locked and secured. The operation went from 8:00AM to 11:15AM.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon                      
Location:  4500 block Stevens Creek Blvd.
Officers responded to a report of a fight in a parking lot.  Upon arrival, officers found three victims who had been hit over the head with bottles. None of them desired treatment.  The three suspects had not left the area and were arrested.  They were booked into County Jail.

Burglary                                                            
Location:  3700 block El Camino Real.
Three women entered a department store and loaded up shopping carts full of clothing. One suspect left the store, got into her car and communicated with the other suspects. When the car was in position the other two suspects exited the store with the merchandise, got into the car and fled. The department store had a camera system which captured the suspect’s faces and the license plate on their car. Officer Lange and Nguyen responded to San Jose where the car was registered. Officers contacted the suspects and arrested them.  The stolen property was recovered.

Parole Search                                                      
Location:  1300 block Hope Dr.
Yesterday Officer Niesen stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver of that vehicle was on parole.  Officer Niesen searched the parolee's vehicle and found several empty small baggies.  Officer Niesen knew that these baggies were commonly used for packaging illegal substances.  The parolee was on parole for possession for sales of illegal substances.  Officer Niesen contacted the parolee at his residence and found methamphetamine and pipes for smoking methamphetamine. The parolee was arrested and booked into County Jail.
