Assault
Location: 2000 block Avenida De Las Flores
Officer Torke went to a report of an assault. The victim claimed that her adult son kicked her. The victim requested that her son be prosecuted for the assault. Officer Torke contacted the suspect inside the residence and placed him under arrest. The suspect was booked at S.C.P.D.

D.U.I.
Location: Lafayette St. and Poplar St.
The suspect drove her vehicle into a divider and disabled her car. Officers located the suspect on foot in the area. A witness positively identified the suspect as the driver. The suspect was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Grand Theft
Location: 800 block Duane Av.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person. Investigation revealed that an attempted grand theft of fiber optic cables had taken place to the rear of a business. The suspect fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival. The suspect was located driving the vehicle. The suspect was apprehended and booked at S.C.P.D.

Metal Theft Burglary
Location: 3100 block De La Cruz Blvd.
Officer Collins was sent to a grand theft and vehicle incident. The reporting party stated that the suspects had broken into a container located on the side of the building and took aluminum bars and plates from inside of the container. The suspects also stole a company vehicle to transport the metals from the business.

Warrant Arrest / Possession of a Firearm
Location: 100 block Washington St.
Officer Malae stopped the suspect vehicle for a vehicle code violation. He made contact with the vehicle's occupants in a parking lot. The driver had no I.D. and his verbal identification was questionable. During a search of the vehicle, the driver fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. The suspect’s identity was confirmed and he was determined to have two warrants for his arrest. Marijuana and a small amount of cocaine were located in the vehicle. A handgun and a camouflage mask were also found. The suspect was arrested and booked at S.C.P.D.

Traffic Accident - Minor Injury
Location: Monroe St. and Nobili Av.
The police responded to the report of an accident involving a vehicle and bicycle. Upon arrival officers found a conscious bicyclist with an injury to his head. It appears the motorist failed to yield the right of way.

Elder Abuse
Location: 3100 block Mauricia Av.
An elderly woman fell on the ground in her garage. The victim’s adult son was extremely intoxicated and left his mother out in the garage on the ground for several hours before he finally called 911 to report the incident. The victim sustained a minor abrasion to her elbow and was transported to Kaiser Hospital for further medical aid. The suspect was arrested and booked at S.C.P.D.

Weapons Possession
Location: Thomas Rd. and Laurelwood Dr.
Officer Lamendola stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations on Thomas Rd. She found the driver had outstanding warrants and no license to drive. She conducted a search of the vehicle pursuant to the arrest and recovered a loaded .22 cal single action revolver under the female passenger’s seat. Officers Lamendola and Gazenbeek arrested the driver for his warrants and the passenger for the weapons charge. Both were booked at S.C.P.D.
