Sunday, May 25th, 2008     

 
Weapons Arrest                                                     
Location:1900 Block of El Camino Real
Two groups with possible gang affiliations got into an argument at a fast food restaurant. One group summoned reinforcements, who arrived in a car containing a bat, a crow bar and a wooden baton. Officers arrived before an assault took place. Three people were arrested.

Monday, May 26th, 2008

 
Hit and Run                                                                         
Location: 800 Block of Bellomy
Neighbors reported an abandoned vehicle that appeared to be involved in a hit and run. Traffic officers responded to the scene and found evidence that it may have been an unreported stolen vehicle. San Jose Police Department was asked to do some follow up. Officer Allan met with the  vehicle’s owner at SCPD.

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008
 
Assault With A Deadly Weapon                         
Location: 2600 Block of El Camino Real
The victim returned to his car to find the suspect inside removing items from the vehicle. There was a confrontation and the suspect stabbed the victim with a screwdriver. The suspect fled and the victim followed. The victim observed the suspect boarding a VTA bus. Officer Shearer located and stopped the bus. The suspect was detained and the victim made a positive identification.

Wednesday, May 28th,  2008

 
Assault With a Deadly Weapon                                                        
Location:  700 Block of Laurie
Officers responded to an unknown problem at a school. Upon arrival, it was determined that this was a gang related fight. Several persons had been attacked and one individual sustained a head injury from being struck by a rock. One group had left the scene before officers arrived and the remaining group was not willing to provide information.

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

 
Burglary                                                           
Location:  3700  Block of Lafayette Street
Officers Fraser and Luong made a security check of a business complex that has been burglarized recently. They discovered an open door at one business. After entering, they discovered that an in wall air conditioner had been pushed off of the wall, which allowed the suspect to crawl through the hole. The suspect ransacked the cash register and fled through the front door. An investigation is continuing.

Friday, May 30th, 2008

 
Robbery                                                                   
Location:  70 Block of Saratoga Avenue
An employee was inside a restaurant, standing at the drive through counter, when the suspect entered the business. The suspect grabbed a bag of money that was on the counter next to the victim. When the victim turned to see who was there, the suspect jammed an unknown object into the victim’ back then ran out of the business. After fleeing on foot eastbound on Keystone, the suspect was seen getting into the passenger side of a silver vehicle. The suspect has not been located.

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

 
Child Welfare                                                          
Location:  900 Block of Digulio
Officers Lamendola and Mead responded to a call from a parent who reported that she was unable to take care of her child. Upon arrival, the officers found that the parent was intoxicated and the child was filthy. The condition of the apartment was unsanitary and a gas stove burner was on. The child was removed to the station and given a bath and clean clothes that were donated by a firefighter. The mother was arrested and the child was taken to the children’s shelter.

Drug Arrest                                                             
Location:  600 Block of Hillsdale
Officer Selberg responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was contacted and found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The vehicle was searched and a number of items were found, including methamphetamine, a drug pipe, bolt cutters, pipe cutters, two-way radios and a receipt from a local recycling company for 140 pounds of copper. The person was arrested for the drugs and burglary tools.
