Sunday, June 1st, 2008      
 
Fraud                                                            
Location: 3200 Block of El Camino Real
Officers responded to a call regarding possible drug activity at a hotel. The officers made contact with the female suspect and received her permission to look in the hotel room and her purse. Officer Pate found a gas credit card in someone else’s name. He found the victims address and a phone number and made contact. The card had been stolen from the victim’s mail the day before this incident. The suspect had used the card to purchase gift cards. Officer Pate was able to determine where the cards were purchased. He went to that location and found a video surveillance tape that showed the suspect purchasing the gift cards with the stolen credit card.

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

 
Felony Warrant Arrest                                                      
Location: 2300 Block of Pruneridge
While researching active warrants, Officer Cusimano determined that an individual he was familiar with had two no bail felony warrants. Throughout the day, he conducted surveillance on the suspect’s address. When the suspect left his house, he was arrested.

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008
 
Arson                                                                        
Location: 3000 Block of Kaiser Drive
Residents of an apartment complex observed three juveniles running away from papers smoldering at the playground area. Officer McElmurry responded to the call and collected statements from the witnesses. The name of a female student was given by a witness. The high school was contacted regarding an address for the girl. There was no significant damage and the incident did not require a response by the Fire Department.

Wednesday, June 4th,  2008

 
Parolee Arrest                                                   
Location:  Intersection of Main and Jackson
Officers Guthrie and Deger responded to the corner of Jackson and Main streets regarding a report of a loud argument between a man and a woman. After speaking with both parties, they determined that the man was on parole. His girlfriend showed signs of injury, but both parties denied any physical contact with each other. The man’s parole officer requested that we place a parole hold on the suspect. The suspect was taken to County Jail.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon                  
Location:  Intersection of Los Padres and Homestead
On Mother’s Day, the suspect, the victim and the victim’s friend, all juveniles, were at a bus stop. The victim and his friend were talking. The suspect asked if they were talking about him and told them if they were he would stab them. They did not answer, so the suspect stabbed the victim in the knee. The victim told his mother and the medical staff at Valley Medical Center that he had fallen. The victim told his mother the correct story today, which led to the suspect being located and arrested.

Thursday, June 5th,  2008

 
Burglary                                                           
Location:  3800  Block of Willow Way
A 61 year old woman was asleep in her bed when she heard someone rummaging in her dresser drawers. She woke up and saw the suspect who was holding a flashlight while going through her belongings. She screamed, which caused the suspect to flee out the front door. Officers arrived and checked the area but did not find the suspect. The only items stolen were a calculator and a cell phone. The suspect gained entry through a rear ground floor window.

Friday, June 6th,  2008

 
Hit and Run                                                 
Location:  Corner of Scott Blvd and Martin Ave.
A hit and run collision occurred in a parking lot. The victim and a number of witnesses tried to get the suspect to stop. The suspect ignored them and drove to his job in Sunnyvale. A witness called the Police Department to report the incident. Officer Wilson investigated and was able to locate both the driver and his vehicle. The suspect admitted to the collision, but described the incident as a minor bump. The case will be sent to the District Attorney’s Office.

Theft                                                             
Location:  3000 Block of Stevens Creek Blvd.
Communications received a call from a men’s department store loss officer requesting assistance with a suspect who was resisting arrest. Two brothers, 17 and 22 years old, had attempted to steal items of clothing. The 22 year old resisted when the store employees attempted to arrest him. He sustained minor injuries in the altercation and complained of pain to his head. He was taken to Valley Medical Center. Both individuals were cited.

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

 
Drug Arrest                                                 
Location:  San Tomas and Forbes Avenue
Officer Niesen stopped a suspect for running a red light on his bicycle. When Officer Niesen asked the suspect if he had any weapons or drugs on his person, the suspect replied that he had a methamphetamine pipe. He also volunteered that he had recently smoked meth and may still have some on him. He was arrested.
