Drug Arrest
Location: Hedding and Walnut
While returning from the County Jail, Officer Rojas noticed a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway. It appeared that the occupants were involved in an altercation. Officer Rojas made contact with the individuals in the car and found a female had a warrant. She was arrested and processed at the Temporary Holding Facility (THF). While in the THF, a Jail Service Officer discovered that the woman had dumped a bindle of rock cocaine.

DUI
Location: Bowers Avenue and Donner Court
A man was driving southbound on Bowers when he drifted to the right and struck a parked vehicle. This collision totaled the parked car and caused it to end up on the sidewalk. The man did not stop and continued southbound on Bowers where he slammed into the rear of another parked car. This collision totaled both the suspect’s vehicle and the second parked car. The suspect was leaning against his car when Officer D. Bell arrived to make the arrest.

Prowler
Location:600 Block of Benton Street
Officers responded to assist Santa Clara University Security with a call they received regarding a half-naked man pounding on the doors of a student housing unit. When they arrived, the man dove into some bushes that are next to a restaurant. Officers set up a perimeter and searched the area. The man was found lying underneath a pile of leaves in the back yard of a residence. He was wearing a t-shirt, but no pants. The man was found to be heavily intoxicated and was arrested for prowling.

Follow Up Investigation
Location: Market and Alviso
Several weeks ago, the Investigations Division distributed a flyer regarding a suspect who was using a camera phone to take inappropriate surreptitious photos of a woman shopping inside a grocery store. Officer Malae recognized the suspect whose photo was on the flyer. While patrolling his beat, Officer Malae spotted the man and stopped his vehicle. Officer Terrrones assisted with the detention, during which the man attempted to discard his phone. The officers contacted the victim who reported the original incident and arranged for her to come by to try to identify the suspect. The victim arrived and did make a positive identification. Officers discovered several more surreptitious photos of undressed women on the phone. The suspect was arrested.

Vandalism
Location: 1000 Block of Lafayette
An SCU employee advised us that one of their employees had found a quart motor oil container filled with paint that had been partially emptied at the intersection of Lafayette and Franklin Streets. Community Service Officer Anthony responded to the scene and found gray paint sprayed onto the street and sidewalk. The information was sent to the Detective who is working the “paint bomb” situation.

Fraud
Location: 3000 Block Stevens Creek Blvd.
The manager of a grocery store contacted SCPD because a customer had used counterfeit currency to pay for goods. Officer Haverty responded and learned that the suspect had attempted to use phony cash (20 and 50 dollar bills) to purchase a reloadable credit card. Before the transaction was completed, the suspect ran out of the store, across Stevens Creek Blvd and into Santana Row. The suspect had been a customer at the store before, so the store employees will be able to identify him. Investigators will also receive a video of the suspect attempting to make this transaction from the store.

Burglary
Location: 3600 Block of Stevens Creek Blvd.
An auto tune-up shop was burglarized for the second time, but it appears that nothing was taken. The first burglary occurred a couple of weeks ago. Entry was made through a broken window on the roll up door. A latent finger print was taken.

Drunk In Public
Location: 700 Block of Lawrence
Officer E. Lagergren spotted a couple in the parking lot of a nightclub. Both were obviously intoxicated and were arrested for being drink in public. The female was so drunk that she was transported by ambulance to a medical facility from the Temporary Holding Facility. The man was booked into County Jail.

Theft
Location: 3500 Block of Benton Street
Three males went into a convenience store. One distracted the clerk with a scratch off lottery ticket winner, the second ran out of the store with beer that had not been paid for, and the third blocked the clerk who tried to chase after the other two. This last suspect was arrested for conspiracy to commit theft. The investigation will continue when the store security tape is viewed.
