Theft
Location: 3500 Block of Homestead
Officers responded to a call at a pizza restaurant regarding a theft. The suspect entered the restaurant and took the tip jar, which contained approximately $10. Based on the description provided, officers recognized the suspect. Sgt. Hosman located the suspect in a nearby fast food restaurant. The suspect was identified by witnesses and arrested.

Location: Los Padres Blvd and Warburton Ave.
Officer Carleton stopped a driver who was found to have a suspended license. A police-like collapsible baton was found on his person. The driver was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Assault With A Deadly Weapon
Location: 3300 Block of Georgetown Place
A resident answered his doorbell to find a woman he did not know who asked him if he would like to buy drugs. The man went outside where two suspects ran up and assaulted him with a bat. As the suspects were headed to a waiting vehicle they encountered a neighbor. The neighbor was struck twice. The suspects fled. The injuries to the two victims were minor and the reason for the assault is unknown.

Domestic Violence
Location: 2500 Block of Amethyst Drive
Officers Lutz and Sterkel took a report of domestic violence from a female victim. She stated that her live in boyfriend had grabbed her and caused an injury. Officers checked the suspect’s criminal history and found that he was also a sex registrant. Officers went to the house to arrest the suspect. The suspect eventually surrendered to the officers. He was arrested and booked at County Jail.

Annoy/Molest a Child
Location: 2100 Block of Scott Blvd.
While on his way to school, a young boy was approached by an adult male suspect. The suspect offered to “touch” the boy in exchange for money. The victim refused and fled. He later notified his mother, who contacted the Police Department. Officer Malae was able to identify the suspect. The case has been forwarded to the Detectives for further investigation.

DUI Collision
Location: 2300 Block of Nobili
An intoxicated driver crashed his pickup into a vehicle parked in front of a house. A passenger in the car was so frightened by this accident that he jumped out of the truck and remained at the accident scene. The intoxicated driver continued driving with his airbag deployed, until he was stopped by Officer Davis. The passenger had injuries to his face and was treated at the scene by the Santa Clara Fire Department. The driver was arrested for felony DUI and hit and run.

Assist Agency Outside City
Location: 1000 Block of Lafayette
Officers Nelson and Carreira received information from dispatch regarding a possible sexual misconduct case involving a minor. The officers contacted Child Protective Services and developed information regarding the suspect who allegedly lived with the child’s mother. Further investigation revealed that the Sheriff’s Office was also working this case due to it occurring in their jurisdiction. The Sheriff’s Office will continue the investigation.

Annoy/Molest a Child
Location: 3200 Block of El Camino Real
Officers responded to a motel in response to several calls regarding an adult female. The suspect had propositioned a 14 year old female who was staying at the motel. After this incident, the suspect, who had a dog, was found in the motel office. The suspect was uncooperative and the dog was aggressive. Animal Control arrived and restrained the dog. The suspect was arrested.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon
Location: 3500 Block of Granada
Officers responded to a suspicious circumstances report at an apartment complex. The reporting party heard a loud bang, then saw a number of people running and leaving the area in at least two vehicles. The incident was originally believed to be fireworks related. A short time later, Kaiser Hospital reported that they were treating a person who had been grazed by a bullet. Follow up determined that the two incidents were related. The victim reported that he had an altercation with the occupants of another vehicle at an intersection. After the altercation, the victim drove to the far side of an apartment complex parking lot. The suspect vehicle followed him, an argument took place and shots were fired. The victim was stuck by one of the rounds which caused a superficial laceration to his head. Two shell casings were found at the scene.
