DUI
Location: Scott Blvd. & Serra Avenue
A drunk driver hit a parked car and a city light pole. The light pole fell over, striking two cars parked in a driveway and one car parked on the street. All three vehicles belonged to the same resident. The male driver had a female’s wallet in his possession. The female was contacted and stated that she had lost the wallet in a San Jose bar about a month ago.
There was a passenger in the car who was also drunk. In the search incident to arrest, the passenger was found to have a bindle of cocaine in his possession. Both the driver and the passenger were booked into County Jail.

Monday, July 28th, 2008
Weapons and Drugs
Location: 2200 Block of The Alameda
Officers made contact with residents at a motel. One of the residents was on active parole. It was determined that this resident was under the influence of methamphetamine, in violation of his parole. He also had a methamphetamine pipe in his possession. Another resident of the motel was on parole also. This person had pepper spray in his possession, which was a parole violation. Both suspects were arrested and taken to County Jail.

Under the Influence
Location: Harrison & Madison
Officer C. Bell stopped a reckless driver who was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine. The driver also had a methamphetamine pipe in his possession and was on parole. He was arrested and booked into County Jail.

Officer Carleton noticed an individual in a rear alley holding a metal pole in the middle of the night. Officer Carleton made contact with the man. The person was found to be under the influence of a stimulant and had two warrants for his arrest. He was booked into County Jail.

Assault & Battery
Location: 2800 Block of Augustine dRIVE
A caller reported that there was a large fight at a gas station that involved at least 10 people and some type of weapon. While officers were on their way to the location, the caller reported that there were shots fired. Officer Fraser arrived and saw a vehicle leaving the area. A high-risk vehicle stop was made with the assistance of Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety and the CHP. The occupants of the vehicle confirmed that the incident at the gas station was a fight and a continuation of a disagreement that had began at a Sunnyvale nightclub. They denied firing any shots, which the gas station clerk confirmed.

Vandalism
Location: 900 Block of Circle Drive
A resident placed a container of used motor oil out with his garbage. When he awoke the next morning, he found that someone had taken the motor oil and poured it onto a car and the driveway of two of his neighbors.

Theft

Five juveniles were arrested for stealing belongings from storage cubbyholes at a theme park attraction loading area.

Battery
Location: 1300 Block of Via Dondera
A high school principal called to report a possible fight involving about 20 males in the area of Benton & Moraga. As police arrived, the group dispersed into the neighborhood. One involved juvenile encountered bike problems while riding away. When he stopped to fix the problem he was jumped by a group of males. The juvenile sustained injuries to his head and face and was transported to Valley Medical Center for medical care. The juvenile identified one suspect who attends another school.

Drug Possession
Location: 2300 Block of Karen Drive
Officer Over made a car stop. The suspect did not have a valid driver’s license, the car had an expired registration and there was a false registration tab attached to the license plate. When stopped, the suspect attempted to discard methamphetamine. He was arrested.

Warrant Arrest
Location: 1000 Block of Monroe Street
A bartender called the department to report that a parolee was in the bar drinking. Officers responded and the parolee was arrested without incident.
