In an international friendly match at Buck Shaw Stadium on September 6, the San Jose Earthquakes beat San Luis FC 1-0 and they did it in perfect Quakes fashion.

Chris Wondolowski, who has been in a bit of a scoring slump the past few weeks, notched a goal in the second minute of second-half stoppage time to give the Quakes the victory.

San Jose will travel to The Home Depot Center on September 15 to play a rematch against Chivas USA at 7:30 p.m. CSN Plus will carry coverage of the match. When the teams met in San Jose on September 2, the Quakes beat the Goats 4-0.

Itís official! The Quakes are the first team to earn a playoff berth. Despite not playing an MLS match this week, the Quakes earned their trip into the playoffs when Chivas USA lost to Seattle Sounders FC on September 8. This is the second trip to the post-season for San Jose in the last three years. Playoff tickets are on sale through mini-plans. Victor Bernardez and Marvin Chavez played with the Honduras in a 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Cuba on September 7. Both Bernardez and Chavez scored in the 3-0 victory. Meanwhile, the United States Menís National Team, playing without any Quakes players, lost 2-1 to Jamaica on September 7.
