Robert Altman

Acclaimed photographer Robert Altman (www.altmanphoto.com) visited Studio-Bongiorno (500 Lincoln St.) on April 25 to sign copies of his book, “The Sixties,” and take attendees on a photo trip through one of American’s most revolutionary time periods. Altman, who is probably best known for being the chief photojournalist for Rolling Stone magazine, recounted his memories through images of hippies, law-breakers, love, and celebrities. Although he was only going to speak for about an hour, the audience pushed him to continue telling stories for nearly twice his planned time. Gallery owner Phil Bongiorno was mesmerized by the images shown and hopes to bring Altman back to the studio for another trip down memory lane once the weather warms up a bit. To stay up-to-date on all of the free events at Studio-Bongiorno connect to the gallery’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/pages/Studio-Bongiorno/152343428168641. The studio will next present rEVOLVEr, a show featuring female artists. The exhibit begins May 4.
